‘Troubled in Ter Apel’, no place for 300 people yet

At the registration center in Ter Apel, people are expected to sleep outside again tonight, a spokesperson for the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) reported to the ANP.

Last night about 150 people slept on the lawn at the registration center, tonight about three hundred people are staying there. Because some of them may still be housed in an emergency shelter, it is unclear how many people have to sleep in the open air.

It is now very restless around the registration center. In addition to the asylum seekers waiting for shelter, fights have broken out and the N366 around the asylum seekers’ center has been closed to regular road traffic as a precaution. reports RTV Noord.

Reporters from the regional broadcaster saw how a group of waiters clashed with each other. The police were not present at the time. According to local residents, the police are standing by in large numbers at the police station in the village. There is currently one police bus at the COA.
