After a long sprint, the 22-year-old from Bruges and the 20-year-old from Ghent beat the Germans by one second and only had to tolerate Croatia (6:17.55) and Ireland (6:18.81) in 6:21.13. In the A-final of the double sculls on Sunday afternoon (12:53 pm) they will also compete against the Netherlands, Italy and Spain.
