The objection is easy: a short tour along the Marche coast in the middle of autumn? Those who consider the sea only from June to September can move on. But an interesting journey would be lost, from the border with Emilia-Romagna to that with Abruzzo, in a region that mix the neighboring ones are perfect and for this reason we like it a lot. It’s good in the Marche and traveling the whole thing out of season offers a different, very suggestive view. Also because we are not at the winter seaside described by Enrico Ruggeri: in fact, after the end of year holidays, the towns become far too quiet, with many places closing for holidays. But from the end of November until Christmas, there is movement and the most important towns remain very pleasant. Our route, of course, takes place on the SS 16 Adriatica: not everyone knows that it is the longest Italian state road – whose route begins in Padua and ends in Otranto – for a total length of a thousand kilometers through six regions: just under 200 are precisely in the Marche with the A14 motorway which allows you to get to Pesaro – starting from the North – to start our itinerary. But you can do exactly the opposite, exiting at Grottammare if you come from the South.
