bugging woodA parked car was completely burned out in the Vitsstraat in Buggenhout on Tuesday evening. A witness saw three men pour a jerry can over the vehicle and then set it on fire. So it’s probably a reckoning.
The incidents happened around 9:15 p.m. A woman who went outside to smoke a cigarette saw three men come out of an alley with a jerry can and pour the fuel over a parked car. “One of them then started filming the car burning out,” she says. “Then they jumped into a car with French number plates and fled.”
The targeted car is said to be only a few days old. It may be a settlement. A home that did not belong to the owner of the car was also extensively damaged. The shutters and a gutter completely melted away and the front door did not remain untouched. There were no injuries.
The Buggenhout fire brigade quickly brought the flames under control. The police have already interviewed several people.
During the extinguishing work, the Vitsstraat was completely closed to traffic at the height of the fire.
