Trinchieri misses respect for German basketball players

The former Bayern coach Andrea Trinchieri misses the international recognition for the German team, which was so strong at the Basketball World Cup.

“For me, Germany is among the top 3 teams, I’m surprised that nobody talks about them. I find that a bit disrespectful,” said the Italian, who was head coach in Munich until June, on “MagentaSport”.

The DBB selection plays “very stable as a team. They have the best Dennis Schröder ever, and they are very consistent even without Franz Wagner,” said Trinchieri.

But he warns of Germany’s quarter-final opponents Latvia (Wednesday, 10:45 a.m. CEST): “They are a dangerous team. The whole nation is behind them and is pushing them. They are so enthusiastic, it’s never easy.”
