Tribute to deceased Sunnery (7) with balloons, drawings and silent journey

Den Helder remembered the death of 7-year-old Sunnery tonight. He was hit by a taxi on April 25 and died a few days later from his injuries. Many people gathered to support the boy’s family.

A large group of people gathered on Friday evening in the Visbuurt in Den Helder. The silent march, which was organized by Sunnery’s mother, started around 7.30 pm. Hundreds of people attended, from young to old. The procession was colored bright red by the heart-shaped balloons.

At the end of the route, at the place where the accident happened, everyone quietly walked past the memorial site of the young boy. The tree was filled with the most colorful flowers. There were several bears among the flowers. A tear fell here and there.
