The inauguration of the ‘Van Eynde organ’ and the ‘Klais organ’ is the official end point of the major restoration works of the cathedral after more than 30 years. The restoration of the organs amounts to more than three million euros.

Long restoration

The complete exterior and interior restoration of the church started in 1987 and ended thirty years later in 2017. In 1991 the tower of the cathedral was damaged by a storm and since then the cathedral has been under construction until 2017. The restoration of the organs took six years and started in 2017.
