Triathlete Lisa Tertsch celebrated her third World Cup victory.
The 24-year-old from Darmstadt won the sprint distance of 750 meters swimming, 20 kilometers cycling and 5 kilometers running in Tangier, Morocco. “I knew I was in shape and tried to do my best after the hard race the previous week,” said Tertsch, who achieved fourth place at the World Triathlon Championship Series final in Pontevedra, Spain, the Olympic standard a week ago had managed.
In the sprint race in Morocco, Tertsch crossed the finish line after 58:46 minutes and the best running performance of all participants (16:32 minutes), twelve seconds ahead of the Spaniard Noelia Juan.
