Triamant residents worried: ‘We feel cheated’
PatriGelu was responsible for the management of the flats of the bankrupt Curamant on the site in Geluwe. Their bankruptcy mainly affects about 20 residents. They can live independently, but received help through PatriGelu with small household chores such as cleaning or washing the dishes. There is a lot of uncertainty among them: “We sold our house in April to come and live here,” says a resident who wishes to remain anonymous. “They already knew there were problems, but they didn’t tell us. We feel cheated. How to proceed? We don’t even know if we can stay here.”
Waiting for curator
In the meantime, the municipality, together with the family and volunteers, is looking for solutions for the residents who received domestic help. At the request of competent minister Crevits, a care coordinator has already been appointed. Wervik was already in contact with the coordinator, but it remains to wait for the appointment of a curator, and his approach and vision for the future.
