Trial start in the clan murder – but the motive remains in the dark

By Anne Losensky

Murder in the clan milieu. First, Berlin’s most notorious intensive offender dies in a hail of bullets between playing children on Tempelhofer Feld. Then his little brother is stabbed in the back between fairground booths on the hustle and bustle in Hasenheide. There are many motives, but they remain in the dark.

District Court, high-security room 142. Most recently, a dangerous drug lord (61) from Colombia sat behind bulletproof glass, it was about a ton of cocaine (judgment 11 years in prison).

Now the Neukölln offspring from two extended families of Arabic origin are in the dock: Omar O. (21) is behind bars (pre-trial detention), Mohamed Os. (20) comes to the trial as a free man.

Hasenheide crime scene, April 30, 2022, “Maientage” folk festival, 11:05 p.m. Mohamed R. (25) is standing at a fairground booth in front of a boxing pear, where you can measure your strength for money. Mohamed boxes, allegedly he gave himself the harmless fighting name “Felix Raab”.

The victim: Mohamed Rabieh was stabbed at the fairground

Because “Mo” is the little brother of the notorious Berlin neighborhood size Nidal R. (36). He is considered Berlin’s No. 1 intensive offender, prisoner, thug and debt collector. Murdered in 2018 on Tempelhofer Feld with eight shots in front of his wife and children.

But no one ever stood trial for his murder. Supposedly, 90,000 euros “blood money” flowed. Mohamed is only a small light against Nidal – but he still has to die: At the fairground two men sneak up on him from behind.

Ten stab wounds, he still draws his pistol (for whatever reason he’s carrying it with him). Paramedics fight in vain for his life. A stab hit the heart, he bleeds to death. 1000 men come to the funeral. With his brother it was 2000.

Omar O. (21) was caught at BER

But this time the clan murder comes before the court: Omar O. is said to have stabbed (turned up after 6 months, accusation of insidious murder). Mohammed Os. is said to have struck (accusation of bodily harm). The second stabber is known, but fleeting.

Today the indictment was read out and three police officers who were first at the crime scene in Hasenheide were questioned.

Judgment November 16.
