Nina Reichenbach won her fifth world championship title in trials at the Urban Cycling World Championships in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).
The 23-year-old cyclist from Mönchengladbach prevailed in the final against the Spaniard Vera Baron, who had interrupted Reichenbach’s winning streak in the course variant in 2021.
“I just did my thing, got to the point. I don’t think I’ve ever been mentally as strong as I am today,” said Reichenbach. From 2016 to 2019 she had won the title four times in a row, in 2021 there was no World Cup due to the corona pandemic. In the trial, obstacles are overcome by bicycle without putting your foot down.
