The trial of French footballer Benjamin Mendy is entering the next round.
The suspended defender of Champions League winners Manchester City faces two alleged sex offenses at Chester Crown Court in north-west England from Monday. It was only in January that six rape allegations against the 28-year-old were dropped.
The incidents are said to have taken place between October 2018 and August 2021, with at least one of the alleged victims being a minor.
Mendy, whose contract at City expires at the end of the month and will reportedly not be renewed, has denied all allegations against him. The Frenchman played his last game in August 2021.
