Trettmann x kitsch war: “6 zeros” and a last album together

In an Instagram post, the rapper Trettmann and the producer collective KitschKrieg announced that their collaboration will end. Before that, however, a joint album will be released, the track list of which they have already revealed at the same time. The post accompanied the release of her current song “6 Nullen”.

Trettmann and KitschKrieg would not be where they are today without each other. The names of the Chemnitz and Kreuzberg collectives have become almost synonymous with each other. Their collaboration has produced its own sound, ushered in a small turning point in German rap and produced a large number of hits. Of course they know that. “Show me just one who doesn’t like #DIY” (Trettmann on “Du Weißt”). Consistently delivering at a high level, staying true to yourself and yet not becoming repetitive – at some point this self-demand apparently reaches the limits of what is feasible. This feeling sounds at least in the post on Instagram.

Again like before

The announced last album together will be called INSOMNIA and will be released on March 17, 2023. Eight feature guests will be honored on the ten tracks. Among others, Henning May, who has already contributed a part to the 2019 KitschKrieg song “5 Minuten” with Trettmann and Cro. All other voices have not yet been heard in the KitschKrieg universe, even if 255 are in-house talents from their own SoulForce Records label. Apart from that, everything is new – that also means: no 187, no Haiyti. But well-known names like Nina Cuba, Lena, Bilderbuch, Paula Hartmann, Levin Liam and Herbert Grönemeyer.

The track “6 Nullen”, released on January 27th, reveals that it will pass on the typical KitschKrieg x Trettmann sound. As soon as the well-known KitschKrieg producer tag sounds after a few bars, everything is as usual. But with so many new voices, we can certainly expect some innovation.

Trettmann has also already planned a tour for 2023.
