The Chemnitz rapper Trettmann revealed the release date for his recently announced new album on Instagram: the 48-year-old’s fourth studio album is to be released on September 2nd, 2022. Apparently it’s already completely finished.
Trettmann’s previous album, which the rapper egocentrically named after himself, was released in 2019. After that, it had become comparatively quiet around him, and since then he has only been heard on a few feature songs, including in 2020 together with Peter Fox on the track ” Lambo Lambo”.
However, Trettmann also has bad news for his fans. For unspecified health reasons, the rapper is canceling all of his festival dates. About this he writes: “After two years of mandatory breaks, I was really looking forward to it, just like you probably are. I hope I’ll be fit again soon and I’ll do everything to see you again asap at one of my concerts.Actually, Trettmann should have played at a total of twelve festivals this summer, including “Rock am Ring”, “Rock im Park”, “Openair St. Gallen” and the “Summerjam Festival”. Nevertheless, he wishes his fans a nice (festival) summer.
The Chemnitz-born dancehall rapper works closely with the Berlin producer team KitschKrieg. Both the rapper and his producers became known through the super hit “Knöcheltief”, which later made it onto Trettmann’s 2017 album “DIY”. We met “the best hip-hop trio in the country” for an interview. You can read about the encounter here.
