Fixture shooting of the 2023-2024 season in Trendyol 1st League was held at Hasan Doğan National Teams Camp and Training Facilities in Riva of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF).
Since Yeni Malatyaspor, one of the clubs affected by the Kahramanmaraş-based earthquakes that took place on February 6, 2023, will not be able to participate, 18 teams will compete in the Trendyol 1st League.
At the end of the 34-week struggles, the first two teams will be promoted directly to the Super League, while one team will be able to participate in the Super League after the play-offs. The teams in the last three places will be relegated to the 2nd Division.
Challenges will begin on August 11, 12, 13 and 14, with the first half of the season ending on December 25. The second half, which will start on January 12, 2024, will end on May 12, 2024. Then the play-off series will last for 3 weeks.
Due to the local elections that will take place in Turkey on March 31, 2024, the 28th week competitions will take place on weekdays 2, 3 and 4 April 2024.
“fixture switch” used for the first time
According to the “fixture switch” system used for the first time, no team will regularly follow another team and teams will never be able to play away or home in a row.
TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi: “We want our brand value to rise much higher”
Speaking before the fixture, where club representatives and TFF managers were present, TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi stated that they made a historical sponsorship agreement with Trendyol and used the following statements:
“Next season, our clubs from all over our country will compete. I hope we will have a much more competitive, exciting and enjoyable season. League 1 was the scene of great excitement last season. The teams competed in the last week to get to the top league and fought until the last week to avoid relegation. On August 11, we will say ‘hello’ to the 61st season. Our goal is for the matches to be played in a gentlemanly manner in front of full stands, to be watched by wider audiences and to be the scene of great excitement. For this reason, we wish our brand value to rise much higher.”
Mehmet Büyükekşi, “The 1st League means Anatolia for us. It means spreading the enthusiasm of football to every part of the country. It means that the stronger the support, the stronger our league.” He noted that they organized an innovation competition for the first time, that they received thousands of applications, that they aimed to attract more spectators to the games of Anatolian clubs, and that they would evaluate each of these projects separately.
“WE DESIRE MORE INVESTMENT”
Informing that the naming sponsorship agreement will relieve the clubs to some extent, Büyükekşi said, “We desire more investment. All our clubs, from their management to their coaches and supporters, need to hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder. The most important task falls to our fans. I want to call out to all the fans; football without fans No, please fill the stands. Playing with your enthusiasm will make every team stronger.” he said.
Pointing out that as TFF, they work with a fair, transparent and equal management approach and try to build trust in Turkish football, Büyükekşi said, “We want our football to rise on solid foundations. We want to raise world-class players from our young talents. Our family and all our members need to contribute to move our football forward. “I believe that everyone will fulfill their responsibility to achieve this goal in the new season. Good luck with the fixtures. I hope it will be a season in which all the beauties of football will be experienced.” he concluded his speech.
