Treant: alarm button system works again after cyber attack

Tunstall’s personal alarm is working again after last Sunday’s cyber attack. That reports Care group Treant.

The alarm system suffered from a malfunction after the attack. Reports from the elderly and seriously ill who needed help and pressed the alarm button were not received by the control room.

It is not known how many people in total were affected by the outage. In Drenthe, this involved at least six hundred Treant clients who received care at home.

During the disruption, the healthcare organization informed all clients who use the system by telephone and sent a letter with information. Healthcare staff also made extra rounds to keep an eye on things.
