I like to navigate with Maps.me. A simple, but clear program. If you make sure that you stay on the red line with the blue triangle (that represents you), there is nothing wrong.
On the way to Hans
Today’s trip went to Hans, an old friend of Luuk, who used to have a campsite on the Lot. He still lives there. He had emailed Luuk the route to his house and I then put that route in Maps.me. “Do we agree that we will follow Hans’s route?” I asked just to be sure. “Yes, fine”, was the unanimous answer.
After the third slope, people looked at me suspiciously. “Is this right?” “Is your red line any good?” The well-known populist grumbling. First agree on something and then, if things go wrong, suggest that it is not right, that it can be done differently and also much easier.
‘Shall I have a look at the map?’
And sure enough, at the next steep mountain it already sounded: “Shall I have a look at the map?” “Isn’t it better off along the D15?” “Are you sure you have the right route?” I just managed to suppress the revolt. And of course the red line brought us to Hans flawlessly. Although it had to be sweated. Perhaps most of all because of me; After all, I had Sjon’s bottle of wine in my bicycle bag.
Already 1800 kilometers I show the boys the right way. But belief and confidence in the right path is apparently a long-term issue.
