Passengers between Emmen and Zwolle will be three minutes shorter on the train from 11 April due to the opening of an extra second track in Emmen-South. Due to a change in the timetable, all local trains from Emmen will depart three minutes later.
Local trains from Zwolle in turn arrive in Emmen three minutes earlier. This also means that on this route, departures are three minutes earlier at the stations Coevorden, Dalen, Nieuw-Amsterdam and Emmen-Zuid.
Time is saved because the local trains cross each other via the new track in Emmen-South instead of in New Amsterdam. Arriva reports that the change of timetable only applies on the route between Coevorden and Emmen. Nothing will change between Zwolle and Coevorden.
Due to track work, no trains will run between Nieuw-Amsterdam and Emmen from Friday to Sunday. Arriva then deploys buses.
