Travelers pay attention: FNV expects that half of buses are not running

Whoever takes the bus today must plan his or her journey well: once again there will be a strike in regional transport. A number of bus drivers will stop working until Friday to enforce a better collective labor agreement. Travelers are advised to opt for alternative transport. Only members of FNV participate in the strike. The CNV trade union did sign the new collective labor agreement in June.

Because not all drivers participate, it is not clear exactly which bus lines are canceled. A bus passenger noticed this morning that buses to Amsterdam do run. Another expressed his dissatisfaction: “I didn’t know. It’s a shame that the strike can’t be done in another way, because now we as travelers are the victims again.”

More activists

The announced strike follows the strike of last month. Then about thirty percent of the drivers stopped working. That was less than previously thought. But according to FNV spokesperson Casper Schrijver, the willingness to take action among the members is growing.
