Traveler stranded in wheelchair at Meppel station, fire brigade lifts him up

The fire brigade had to be involved in Meppel last night to ensure that a man in a wheelchair bike could continue his journey. The traveler was stranded at the station because one of the elevators was broken.

The man was helped off the train by a taxi driver, but could not get back up from the tunnel. The driver therefore called the fire brigade.

Ultimately, the fire brigade lifted the man in his wheelchair upstairs. After an inspection, it turned out that not only the elevator on the center side was broken, but also the elevator on the Ezinge district side.

It is not clear whether the elevators have now been repaired.
