Moscow and St. Petersburg became the most popular travel destinations for Russians on February 14
This year, Russians will travel to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi and Mineralnye Vody on February 14
Travel services Tutu.ru and OneTwoTrip found out where the Russians plan to fly on Valentine’s Day.
Tutu.ru analyzed air travel data from 11 to 14 February. The leaders became Moscow (18.6%) and Saint Petersburg (9.1%). The top five also includes Sochi (5.4%), Mineralnye Vody and Krasnodar (3.1% each). The top 10 includes one foreign destination – Yerevan. As the service notes, last year the same destinations were mostly popular, but Novosibirsk took the place of Yerevan in the ranking.
The average check in Russia for these dates in one direction increased by 3% – from 5904 to 6108 rubles. The cheapest tickets to Rostov-on-Don – 4176 rubles.
Most of the train trips on February 11-14 are also scheduled for Moscow and St. Petersburg (26% and 11% respectively). Russians will travel by rail to Sochi, Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnodar, Kazan and Novosibirsk.
