Travel advice for Russia tightened

The travel advice for Russia was tightened on Saturday evening. The whole country is now colored orange, which means that people are advised to only go there if it is absolutely necessary. For the area along the Ukrainian border and the North Caucasus (Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia) a red travel advice has been in effect for some time: do not travel. That is unchanged.

The tightening has to do with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. As a result, “the situation in Russia is uncertain”, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ministry points out that in addition to KLM, other airlines have canceled all flights to and over Russia in the coming week. If you had booked a flight, it is best to contact the airline.
