Trauma helicopter ends up in fog and spends the night in Smilde

The trauma helicopter deployed in the Northern Netherlands will spend the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in Smilde. The trauma helicopter was deployed tonight for an accident in Uffelte, but on the way back – without a victim – ended up in such a thick fog that it was decided to ground the helicopter.

That happened in Smilde, where the trauma helicopter was able to land safely in a meadow. The Mobile Medical Team that was in the helicopter was then transferred by car to Eelde, where the trauma helicopter is normally also stationed. The helicopter will be guarded in Smilde tonight and will be deployed again on Wednesday.
