Tom has a trap to catch turtles at the Sint-Pietersbrugje in Moen. He catches them when they come to sunbathe. Then they are transferred to SOS Reptiel in Ichtegem where they spend the rest of their lives.

The yellow-bellied, yellow-eared and red-eared sliders were often sold as small turtles in the past. But the critters grow large and live up to 50 years. People get tired of them and dump them.
