An e-scooter driver suffered serious injuries in Mitte on Thursday when he was hit by a van.

As the Berlin police announced on Friday, around 5:15 p.m., a 63-year-old was driving his van on Friedrichstrasse. When he turned onto Hannoversche Straße, he crashed into a 41-year-old e-scooter driver. He fell and suffered broken bones and abrasions on his left leg.

After the crash, the 63-year-old initially drove on to Hessische Straße and admitted that he had not noticed the accident. Witnesses pointed out the man to the accident – then he drove back to the scene of the accident.

The van driver was unharmed, while the e-scooter driver was taken to the hospital. The police are investigating.
