The transport and distribution company Spijker Logistics BV from Veendam has been declared bankrupt by the court.
In 2020, Spijker was taken over by industry colleague Tuil Logistics from Winschoten, founded in 2006. That company, which was led by Robert Tuil, subsequently moved in with the acquired Spijker. The new combination was located in one of the halls of the Rail Service Center on the N33 near Veendam. It is a 90,000 square meter hall with office space on Spoorhavenweg. Tuil wanted to grow faster through the takeover.
The company, which was mainly active in international road transport, had nine employees on its payroll. There was a lot of driving in Scandinavia and Italy.
Spijker Logistics was founded in Winschoten in 2010 by Pascal Spijker. In the early days, the transport company mainly transported many pallets and packages from the Benelux throughout Europe. It was also active as a courier company, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
Curator J. Gevers has been appointed to manage the settlement of the bankruptcy. He could not be reached for comment.
