Wouter van der Goes, DJ on NPO Radio 2 and the transmitter voice of NPO 1, lashes out at GroenLinks MP Tom van der Lee. “He’s going on a sweet trip to Japan!”
GroenLinks Member of Parliament Tom van der Lee has posted a message on Twitter about his working visit to the Japanese capital Tokyo, including some beautiful photos of the skyline. “It’s good that you went by plane and that you, like me, have a warm heart for our airlines,” writes VVD MP Daniel Koerhuis.
Candy trip
It is evident what Daniel really means with this comment. Wouter van der Goes, the voice of NPO 1, also thinks Tom is hypocritical: “GroenLinks gentleman on a sweet trip to Japan. Of course flying. I grant him, but is of course not very appropriate for the pushy anti-aviation policy of the green colleagues, is it? So…”
Why does he say “candy trip”? “Possibly, wild guess, because of the beautiful sightseeing-photos. My point is that if you want to kill the entire aviation sector as a party, a Teams meeting might have been more logical.”
Debatable
Wouter does not think he is guilty of easy scoring. “Taking everyone’s (flight) mate and flying around the world yourself is debatable! Long live Zoom!”
His follower Jeroen agrees in principle: “Zoom is indeed a great alternative in some cases. Whether that is the case here, I cannot say. Considered by this politician, probably not.”
