Angelino joins TSG Hoffenheim on loan from RB Leipzig. The left-back is expected to fill the void left by David Raum.
RB Leipzig’s Spanish left-back Angelino is moving to TSG Hoffenheim. After Ozan Kabak, Stanley Nsoki and Eduardo Quaresma, the fourth new defender has landed in the Kraichgau. After David Raum switched to RB Leipzig for around 26 million euros, would have Coach André Breitenreiter placed a new left-back at the top of his wish list. This wish has now been fulfilled.
As the club announced in a press release, the 25-year-old will initially be loaned out for the current season. Nothing is known about a purchase option. “The fact that a player in this category decides to join TSG consciously and with full conviction, even though he can actually choose his league and club category in his current situation, is something special and shows how important we have become.” Hoffenheim’s director of professional football, Alexander Rosen.
Angelino, whose full name is José Angel Esmoris Tasende, is looking forward to the new task: “I feel a great desire to help shape the modern, offensive and exciting football that TSG stands for this season. Aqui vamos”, like the Spaniard who was instrumental in RB Leipzig’s DFB Cup victory over SC Freiburg last season.
