Free transfer 22-year-olds
1.FC Heidenheim 1846 has announced the first two transfers for the coming season on the entry side. On Wednesday evening, the second division confirmed that central defenders Lennard Maloney (22) and Thomas Keller (22) were moving to East Württemberg. Both are free transfers, Maloney’s contract with Borussia Dortmund II expires, as does Keller’s at FC Ingolstadt 04 and they will sign until 2025.
Maloney said of his decision in favor of Heidenheim: “After two years at BVB in the regional league and the 3rd division, I am very happy to be able to prove myself at FCH in the second division in the future. I will do everything to integrate as quickly as possible from the summer and to be able to help my new team with my strengths.”

Keller äußerte sich wie folgt: „Der FCH ist mittlerweile ein gestandener Zweitligist, bei dem sich junge Spieler schon seit Jahren sehr gut weiterentwickeln. Ich freue mich riesig auf diese neue Herausforderung und will meine Chance in Heidenheim auf jeden Fall nutzen, um mich persönlich dauerhaft in der 2. Liga zu etablieren.“
