Football in Saudi Arabia continues to upgrade: record champions Al-Hilal have signed Serbian international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio Rome for three years for 40 million euros.
The 28-year-old midfielder is said to earn 20 million euros a year.
A Saudi sovereign wealth fund, which also owns Premier League club Newcastle United, holds 75 percent of the club’s shares. The Riyadh club had previously signed Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves.
Central defender Kalidou Koulibaly has joined Al-Hilal from Chelsea.
