Transfer hammer? Duo around Klopp supposedly in pole position with Kimmich

New speculation about the future of Joshua Kimmich: Apparently a duo from the English Premier League has serious hopes of signing the international player from FC Bayern.

Liverpool FC with team manager Jürgen Klopp and Manchester United are currently in pole position in courting Kimmich’s services, reports transfer expert Ekrem Konur on X (formerly Twitter).

Manchester City are also said to be looking into signing Kimmich, but are apparently just outsiders in the race.

Konur recently reported that Kimmich could well imagine moving to the island. He did not reveal any further details about the 28-year-old’s intentions.

The Italian reporter Rudy Galetti had also written to the short message service about efforts by the Saudi club Al Ahli to recruit Kimmich. There was even talk of an official offer from the desert state.

“Bild” reported at the end of December that Kimmich’s departure from FC Bayern in January was not a serious issue. In the summer, however, “everything is possible” for the midfielder, it was said at the time.

FC Bayern: Joshua Kimmich still “very important”

Officially, Kimmich, whose contract runs until 2025, is not in question for the German record champions. The former Stuttgart and Leipzig player is still “very important” and an “absolute leader,” emphasized sports director Christoph Freund at the beginning of November.

“He knows about his role at FC Bayern. And we know it too,” said the Austrian. “We haven’t talked in detail yet,” Freund also revealed. “But of course I’ve been talking to Jo for a while.”

There is confusion about Kimmich’s alleged search for an advisor, which “Bild” recently wrote about. The Munich “Abendzeitung” countered that the professional, who had previously negotiated his contracts himself, was not looking for a new agent.
