season preview
Transfermarkt takes a look at the 18 Bundesliga clubs and their summer activities. who left who is new And what could the starting eleven look like at the start of the season? Let’s continue with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Eintracht Frankfurt: arrivals and departures in summer 2023
For the third time in a row, Eintracht Frankfurt presented a double-digit number of newcomers in the summer. This makes the “Adlerträger” one of the most active Bundesliga teams on the transfer market. The current change period is also strategically similar to the previous ones: Instead of expensive and already fully trained players, the SBU mainly relies on talented players who can develop and do not cost quite as much money.
Two of them are Willian Pacho (21) and Hugo Larsson (19), each with 9 million euros, the most expensive purchases from Frankfurt. While the former is already one of the starting eleven as a left central defender in the back three and made a very positive impression in preparation as a substitute for Evan Ndicka (23), who left for free, the Swede has to fight for every minute in central attacking midfield. In terms of position, he could replace Daichi Kamada (27) – the second top performer who went free – but as of now he has to get past Mario Götze (31) and Jesper Lindström (23).
Ellyes Skhiri (28) takes over the position of Djibril Sow (26), for whom the SBU received around 10 million euros from FC Sevilla. The Tunisian was signed at 1. FC Köln after the end of his contract and should bring stability to the defensive midfield. In addition to him, Junior Dina Ebimbe (22) should be on the double six for the time being, the Frenchman is one of three players, along with Ansgar Knauff (21) and Philipp Max (29), who were permanently committed after the loan last year.
Robin Koch (27) should also be an integral part of the starting eleven. After being relegated with Leeds United, the eight-time international took advantage of a clause to join Eintracht on a loan deal. With a view to the European Championships next year, the former Freiburger wants to prove himself again in Germany. Omar Marmoush (24) and Jessic Ngankam (22) could benefit from the departure of Randal Kolo Muani (24) should he still join Paris Saint-Germain.

There could still be movement in these positions at Eintracht Frankfurt
Since the start of the transfer period, Kolo Muani has dominated the headlines about Eintracht. Recently there have been increasing reports that a move to Paris Saint-Germain is more likely. The attacker should already be in agreement with the French champions, negotiations about the transfer fee are still ongoing.

Should the transfer go through, it is likely that a new striker will be signed. In the case of Elye Wahi (20), the SBU is said to be out of the running, the Montpellier talent is likely to join RC Lens. Hugo Ekitiké is an alternative.
Apart from the most valuable Frankfurter, Lindström could still leave the club. The Dane was last linked with SSC Napoli. The transfer of Faride Alidou (22) to 1. FC Köln is almost fixed, the left winger is expected to be loaned out with a purchase option, but Eintracht secured a buyback option. Buyers are also being sought for Rafael Borré (27) and Lucas Alario (30).
