Transavia customers the cigar until June, still at least two months short of planes

Transavia is forced to disappoint even more travelers in the coming two months due to the continuing shortage of aircraft. At the beginning of April, thousands of travelers were also duped by the fleet problems at Transavia.

Transavia is unable to get a number of aircraft under maintenance airworthy on time. In addition, the airline is waiting for three additional aircraft to be taken over from the Romanian Blue Air. Transavia says more spare aircraft have been hired, but admits not enough have been deployed.

Earlier today it was announced that after several cancellations at Eindhoven Airport, the airline also canceled customers who had booked a holiday flight from Schiphol and were to leave this weekend.

It is not yet known how many passengers Transavia will have to disappoint in the near future and which flights will be cancelled. The holiday flyer tries to rebook as many customers as possible, but it is already certain that extra flights will be canceled up to and including June.

Staff shortage

Transavia now also acknowledges that there is a shortage of personnel in the technical service of the company, but calls this very cumbersome a ‘limited repair availability in the market’. The union for aviation engineers, the NVLT, already sounded the alarm about the shortage in February.
