Blade doctor organizes a training: AI in the editorial office. Artificial intelligence is getting better at generating text, images, audio and video. How do you deal with that as an editor? Do you use AI to create content? Or is it a tool for human content creators? This training is an introduction to the world of AI and teaches editors the opportunities and risks of AI.
Why training on AI for editors?
There is a lot of discussion about artificial intelligence and the incredible speed at which AI content continues to improve. Opinions about AI vary considerably. One is afraid that AI will eventually replace editors, illustrators and photographers, while the other already uses AI in daily practice as useful editorial support. The question is not whether you should use AI in the newsroom. That’s up to you. The training is intended to introduce you to the opportunities and threats surrounding artificial intelligence, so that you in the editorial office are well able to choose whether or not to use AI.
An introduction to AI tools and prompts
During the training you will get to know different AI tools and you will experiment with generating text and images. You will learn what prompts are and how to ‘converse’ with AI in a better way, so that the tool is better set up to carry out your request. In the training we provide a useful overview of the various tools that editors currently have at their disposal.
AI for editorial support
During this training we also pay attention to editorial support for editors by AI. Consider SEO optimization of articles, checking for spelling errors, creating headlines and summaries (for example for the newsletter). We also look at how you can use AI for images: such as creating image briefings for photographers and illustrators and editing photos and illustrations and generating video based on text.
AI in the newsroom: opportunities and threats
The approach of the training is that AI can be a good tool for editors, image editors and editors-in-chief. Writing and publishing AI-generated content is not without risks. During the training we discuss a number of high-profile issues, common mistakes and the risks in relation to copyright.
For whom?
The training is designed for media professionals who work in an editorial office. Journalists, editors, image editors, editors-in-chief and editors-in-chief. The training focuses mainly on daily practice in the editorial office. But publishers interested in AI are also welcome.
