Trainer Sven Swinnen leaves Helmond Sport

Sven Swinnen is no longer the trainer of Helmond Sport. The board of the football club, which plays in the Kitchen Champion Division, has terminated the contract with the coach with immediate effect on Tuesday.

The reason for this decision is the disappointing results. Helmond Sport, which started this football season with ambition, occupies the penultimate place with only nine points from twelve matches, despite the arrival of players such as Tom Beugelsdijk, Elmo Lieftink, Peter van Ooijen and Bram van Vlerken. Helmond Sport currently only manages Jong FC Utrecht.

Search replacement
Players and staff were informed by the club management on Tuesday morning about the decision not to continue with Swinnen. The club will be looking for a replacement in the coming weeks. Until then, assistant coach Tim Bakens will do the honors on an interim basis.

Swinnen has been the head coach of Helmond Sport since February. In the 2020-2021 season, he was already involved with the club as a supervisor of the players based in Helmond by partner club KV Mechelen.
