Trainer Kohler has also left Volendam, Michael Dingsdag will succeed him temporarily

Trainer Matthias Kohler will no longer return to the bench at FC Volendam. The club has just announced that assistant Michael Dingsdag will be given final responsibility for the away matches against Feyenoord and SC Heerenveen. This morning Dingsdag led the (closed) training for the first time.

The trainer of Jong FC Volendam is assisted by Regillio Simons and goalkeeper coach Frank van der Geest. Dingsdag regrets the situation at Volendam, where the entire technical staff announced their resignation on Friday. This follows the dismissal of the board led by chairman Jan Smit. “If the club and the players call on me, I am of course prepared to support the club,” Dingsdag said in a statement on the website.

FC Volendam is still thinking about a permanent solution. Dingsdag does not have the required papers to work as a head coach for a longer period of time. Moreover, Jong FC Volendam will play almost simultaneously with the first team in a week and a half. Simons does have the highest diploma.

Three months ago, Dingsdag was a guest in the football talk show De Aftrap. Watch that broadcast in the video below.
