Trainer Jonk aims high with FC Volendam: “My phone has 40 points, I believe in that”

Normally, about 34 points should be enough to maintain a club in the Eredivisie. In the first 6 matches FC Volendam only scored 4 points. There were compliments, but only from FC Twente (1-0) was won. The away match against FC Groningen ended in 2-2.

For Jonk, the disappointing results are no reason to be alarmed. “You know approximately how many points you have to get. It is a high target, but I believe in that,” said 55-year-old Volendammer, who is in his fourth season as head coach of FC Volendam.

The second guest at the table is Kiki Musampa (45). The former Ajax player has been a trainer of Jong FC Volendam since last season, which plays in the second division. At the end of last month it was announced that he will also be working as an assistant to Young Orange national coach Erwin van de Looi. Van de Looi approached him after Stijn Schaars had retired.

The Kick-Off can be seen on TV every Friday at NH Sport. The first broadcast is at 5.10 pm and after that you can watch it every hour in the repeat. In addition to the guests, Erik-Jan Brinkman plays the game Raak de Vlag against a (former) football player every week. This time he will compete against Martijn Kaars in Monnickendam.
