The wild back and forth on the coaching bench by tennis star Emma Raducanu goes into the next round. This week, the British announced that she separated with immediate effect from Vladimir Plattenik – after just a single common match.

After just 14 days, tennis star Emma Raducanu and her trainer Vladimir Plattenik have already separated. This was announced by the British team in a statement.

“Emma and Vlado go separate paths. Emma has the greatest respect for Vlado and the joint work, but it was not quite in the right direction. Emma is now focusing on beating up as much as possible in Miami and will continue to look for the right coach,” says the message.

After a defeat, Raducanu pulls the ripcord

The collaboration between Raducanu and Plattenik was actually designed for three months. On March 5, the Slovake joined the British team in Indian Wells. A day later she received a devastating 3: 6, 2: 6 defeat against Japanese Moyuka Uchijima.

At the currently running WTA tournament in Miami, the coach was missing on the grandstand at the first match of his (ex-) protégé. The separation was officially announced a few hours later.

Raducanu wanted to sign tennis coach twice

What that makes the coach special: According to his statement, Emma Raducanu has been working twice for collaboration in recent years. When this came about in the third attempt, she obviously did not keep what the British and her team promised.

Platning is not an isolated case. Raducanu has been devouring countless coaches since their sensational US Open Triumph in 2021. Many only stayed in office for a few months. In the past, the Britin herself claimed to deliberately rely on many coaches in order to always get new impulses. However, sporting success has not been sustainable.
