Wieten extended the Olympic title with Lennart van Lierop, Finn Florijn and Koen Metsemakers. He won gold at the Tokyo Games in 2021 in the double four with Abe Wiersma, Dirk Uittenbogaard and Metsemakers. Wieten won bronze with the Holland Acht at the Rio de Janeiro Games in 2016.
With the double four, Wieten also became world champion (2019 and 2023) and twice European champion (2019 and 2020).
