UPDATETrain traffic to and from Utrecht Central Station was temporarily stopped on Friday evening. According to a spokesperson for the NS, this was due to a report of a person walking on the track. Train traffic started again just after midnight.
Train traffic was “shut down as a precaution around Utrecht Central Station”. “We have to be on the safe side with such a report,” an NS spokesperson said just before midnight.
The shutdown affected trains across the country. “Then the entire complex puzzle in terms of personnel and trains is no longer correct.” According to the spokesperson, train traffic to and from Utrecht was able to get going again around 00:30.
“Here and there it may still be the case that a train is canceled,” said the spokesperson. Travelers who were affected by the delay can get their money back. “We advise our travelers to look at our website,” said the spokesperson.
