Train traffic back on track between Meppel and Zwolle after collision

Train traffic between Meppel and Zwolle started again this morning. Last night, ProRail repaired the damage caused by a collision between a train and a tractor.

That happened last night at a level crossing in Staphorst. No one was injured in the accident. The train passengers were taken off the train and taken to Meppel with a so-called evacuation train. From there they could continue their journey.

According to the police, two people were on the tractor and they were able to get off in time, bringing themselves to safety. It is unclear how the accident could have happened. Train traffic on the route will run according to schedule again this morning, according to ProRail.
