Train traffic around Leiden disrupted by a crack in a switch

Train traffic in the region around Leiden has been seriously disrupted, ProRail reports. There are no trains between Hoofddorp and Leiden Central. Fewer intercity trains run between Leiden Central and The Hague Central. A crack in a point of a switch is the cause of the problems, according to ProRail.

According to NS, the extra travel time is approximately 15 minutes. The disruption is expected to last until 1.15 p.m. A contractor is working on it.

Due to the problems, it is extra busy on the route between Schiphol Airport and Rotterdam Central.
