Train malfunction in Amsterdam resolved, trains are slowly starting again

The malfunction at Amsterdam Central has been resolved, ProRail reports. The trains will start again from eight o’clock tonight. The exact cause of the malfunction is not yet known.

“The systems have been reset and tested,” said ProRail. Although nothing is yet clear about the cause of the malfunction, resetting the systems has ensured that the trains can run again.

The trains will start again at eight o’clock tonight. “That will initially be dribs and drabs”, ProRail writes in a statement.

Due to the malfunction, no trains ran to and from Amsterdam Central from half past five this afternoon. Fewer trains also ran to Haarlem, Schiphol, Zaandam and Weesp.

Harry Styles

The outage came at an unfortunate time. Tonight British singer Harry Styles will perform in a sold-out Johan Cruijf Arenda. Organizer Mojo Concerts has announced that the concert will start at least fifteen minutes later due to the train failure.
