A car with a trailer ended up on the track in Prinsenbeek this morning. The trailer was then hit by a train. There were approximately four hundred travelers in that Sprinter to Dordrecht. They are evacuated and transfer to another train. As far as we know, no one was injured.
It is not yet clear how the car and trailer came to a standstill on the track. The accident happened at a railway crossing on Spoorstraat. The trailer contained roof tiles, which are scattered across the track. A railway tree is about to fall over due to the impact.
There are no trains between Breda and Dordrecht. There are also no trains on the high-speed line between Rotterdam Central Station and Breda. Train passengers can detour via Roosendaal and replacement buses run between Lage Zwaluwe and Breda.
Accidents occur more often at this location. Also last year, a van with a trailer ended up on the tracks. The driver then took the bend too short, causing him to get stuck. It is not clear whether this is also the case today.
It is expected that train traffic will be able to run again around 11.15 am.
