Traffic on the A32 is getting back on track after accidents during the morning rush hour

There were traffic jams on the A32 near Meppel and Steenwijk during the morning rush hour due to several traffic accidents.

At the Lankhorst junction, traffic was backed up in a southerly direction after an accident involving two passenger cars and a van. Two lanes were closed. According to the ANWB, the delay was over around 9 a.m.

There was a delay at Steenwijk-Noord due to a truck combination that crashed into the guardrail. That happened around 7 a.m. when the driver wanted to merge. Traffic from Meppel had to slow down because one lane was available. Rijkswaterstaat and a recovery vehicle were present to ensure the handling went smoothly.

The road was reopened at the end of the morning rush hour; only the driveway at Steenwijk-Noord is still closed.

It is still unclear how both accidents could happen. As far as we know, no injuries have been reported.
