Traffic nuisance due to water leak in Wevelgem

“A few weeks ago, water came from under the footpath,” says alderman for public works Stijn Tant. “There is a main pipeline from De Watergroep, which is a bit older.”

In the meantime, the leak has been closed for the time being, but larger repairs are needed. These will last at least a few days, up to a few weeks, the municipality thinks, but in the meantime traffic has to make local detours. The water leak is under the footpath in front of a retail store, but there are no problems there.
