Traffic jams around Eindhoven due to work on the highway

The A2 between the Batadorp and De Hogt interchanges will be closed in both directions this weekend. Between 9 a.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, all traffic will be diverted via the N2 Eindhoven ring road. The closure is necessary because a tunnel under the A2 and the N2 is being worked on. Next weekend (6-9 May) exactly the same applies. The work will lead to a number of traffic jams around Eindhoven.

The tunnel that is being constructed in Eindhoven Northwest is necessary for a better traffic flow and accessibility of Eindhoven Airport, among others. The A2 is therefore closed between Batadorp and De Hogt in both directions.

Traffic jams
The road works led to four traffic jams on Saturday morning. On the N2 from Eindhoven to Maastricht, there was a 13-kilometer traffic jam in front of the Leenderheide junction around a quarter to twelve, good for a delay of more than fifteen minutes.

At that time there was a four kilometer traffic jam in the other direction, in front of Veldhoven. There the delay was five minutes.

On the A2 from Maastricht to Eindhoven, traffic was in traffic jam for Leenderheide around a quarter to twelve over a distance of six kilometers. Traffic here had to take into account a 15-minute delay. On the N69 from Neerpelt to Eindhoven, traffic was in a traffic jam for Aalst for two kilometers.

Around half past one in the afternoon there were only traffic jams on the N2. Near Veldhoven in both directions and on the road from Eindhoven to Maastricht near Meerhoven. In all cases there were traffic jams of about five kilometers in length.
