Today, records were recorded with no less than 280 kilometers of traffic jams during the morning rush hour. Things continued to be difficult during the afternoon. The Traffic Center recorded exceptional traffic jam values all day long. From 10 am onwards, accidents also occurred here and there, causing even more disruption.
Things are still slow on the Brussels outer ring. Traffic is virtually silent for 27 kilometers, from Wezenbeek-Oppem to Anderlecht. The travel time is currently two hours longer. In Wemmel, the most saturated stretch of highway in Flanders, all traffic could only drive on one of the three lanes from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The cause was an accident between a car and a truck.
In Anderlecht, near the Pede exit, two lanes were still closed around 5 p.m. There was an accident involving five cars, with only material damage. The road maps also turn red in Antwerp and Ghent. Little improvement is expected tomorrow, which is why drivers should leave on time, according to the Flemish Traffic Center.
