Traffic is completely jammed due to accidents and work

Traffic in Brabant was completely jammed at the end of the afternoon on Thursday due to various accidents and work. The N261 near Waalwijk was closed for almost an hour so that emergency services could resuscitate a motorist. And on the A2 between Eindhoven and Maastricht there was a big traffic jam due to an accident.

One lane was closed between the Batadorp and De Hogt interchanges so that emergency services could pass. The road was reopened around 5:30 a.m.

Moreover, it is very busy on the highways in West Brabant because the Heinenoordtunnel (A29) is closed due to work. As a result, motorists and truckers divert via other roads. On the A16 from Breda to Rotterdam there was a 25 kilometer traffic jam just before Dordrecht around a quarter to five, and on the A17 at Klaverpolder you even had a delay of 35 minutes on the way from Roosendaal to Dordrecht.

Victim deceased
The N261 near Waalwijk was partially released again around five o’clock. Road users who have to travel from Waalwijk to Tilburg can continue driving. Those lanes were closed earlier so that the trauma helicopter could land there. In the other direction, one lane is open again. Unfortunately, the emergency services were unable to save the victim who had to be resuscitated.
