Traces of amphetamine in eight co-digesters in Drenthe

Co-digesters are important links in the production of bioenergy, such as biogas and bioelectricity. With co-fermentation, at least 50 percent manure is fermented with a maximum of 50 percent co-products, such as grass, corn and pressed pulp. The fermentation process leaves a residual product called digestate. When using organic co-products, such as plant residues or residues from the food industry, the digestate can be seen as a fertilizer.
